This is an account of my first time experience as a naturist and a newbie at the Ottawa Naturists / Naturistes de l’Outaouais (ON/NO) club.
I’m a male of 27 years old. I am writing this the day after my very first experience at the ON/NO Club, and it was honestly incredible. The atmosphere was welcoming and peaceful, filled with around 70 people — mostly in their 50s and 60s.
When I first walked into the mixed changing area, I felt a little shy, but that disappeared quickly once I realized how natural and relaxed everyone was.
I felt shy when I removed my clothes in front of others, but when I saw women too removing their clothes alongside men, my shyness disappeared. Then I went to a shower prior to entering the pool.
Soon, I joined others in the hot pool. I had to move to the cold pool after a few minutes because I felt like my “Little Johnny” was about to wake up and say hello to others 😅. I didn’t want to be embarrassed, so I jumped into the cold water to control him. 😟
Everyone was super friendly and open, which helped me feel comfortable right away, even though I was the youngest person (20s) there.
There were also two family naturists (husband and wife who were in their 30s) with their kids, and two members who were visually impaired but radiated so much joy and energy. I’m naturally an extrovert, so I introduced myself to almost everyone there — probably 95% of the crowd! It was easy to connect with people because everyone had this calm, judgment-free vibe.
By the time I left around 8:35 p.m., I felt completely at ease — confident, calm, and grateful for such a genuine experience.
I was hoping to meet someone closer to my own age, maybe even find a fellow naturist friend or partner to share the experience with. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anyone in their 20s this time, but it was still a wonderful evening overall.
It was a night to remember — I’d say I truly slayed it 🙌🔥.
