About the picture: In the leadup to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, a dozen hopefuls from the British water sports team including swimmers, divers, water polo players and synchronised swimmers got together to pose naked for a daring underwater photo-shoot. "I wasn't nervous about being naked in front of the camera. I was more worried about how I was going to breathe and smile at the same time," said 21-year-old water polo player Lisa Gibson (Right, rear in the picture). The 21-year-old diver Tonia Couch (Second right, front in the picture) said her boyfriend was doubtful when she told him about the naked photocall but her swimmer counterpart Stacey Tadd (Second right, rear in the picture) got a firm support from her mum. Paralympic swimmer, Stephanie Millward (Center, rear in the picture), who has battled multiple sclerosis, was also in the picture. The girls had to be photographed individually as it would have been too chaotic to try to capture them all at once. They were then "placed" in a group by some computer wizardry. The photo-shoot was carried out to back the girls' Olympic dream, sponsored by the National Lottery and British Gas. Pool N Ottawa, ON |
