An equipment failure and resulting small fire at Pool S on the evening of Saturday, February 25 caused the closure of the facility and the consequent cancellation of our planned swim. The incident happened around 6:20 pm during a public swim, just more than one hour before our swim was to start.
Pool staff were unable to immediately contact ON/NO officials who were already en route to the pool to set up for the swim. Thus ON/NO officials only became aware of the closure upon arrival at the pool.
ON/NO regrets the inconvenience to members and guests, some of whom we know travelled long distances to attend the event.
